Helping disadvantaged youth learn to drive safely, responsibly & defensively

Carsguide.com.au in partnership with SKODA is launching a new initiative to help Australia's disadvantaged youth learn the skills necessary to drive safely, responsibly and defensively for life.

The Drive for Life programme will be run by the Oasis Youth Support Network Sydney - the Salvation Army's response to youth homelessness in Australia.

Carsguide.com.au and SKODA will help make the dream of one day getting a licence a reality by providing three Yetis, promotion of the initiative and volunteers for the Oasis Drive for Life Programme.

Director of the Oasis Youth Support Network, Robbin Moulds, said, "For many young Australians, getting your drivers licence is a rite of passage.  However, for the majority of young people who come to Oasis it is not - they are without family support networks to teach them to drive, they do not have access to vehicles and cannot afford professional lessons to obtain their licence."

"Currently we have 75 young people at Oasis on a waiting list wanting to learn how to drive."
